ICEKits

An ICEKit is a teaching pack to use with a picturebook. It has been created by practitioners for practitioners to develop intercultural citizenship education in early language learning. There are 18 ICEKIts on this page. Scroll down and click on ‘download’ for instant access.

ICEKit#1 Perfectly Norman

This is a pilot ICEKit co-created by the ICEPELL partners as a model for training purposes.
It has been developed around the picturebook Perfectly Norman by Tom Percival (Bloomsbury, 2017) and is suitable for learners in upper primary (9-12 years old).

ICEKit#3 Strictly no elephants

This ICEKit was co-created by Elsa Vasconcelos, Indie Braat, Katja Wennrich and Lidia Pautasso. It has been developed around the picturebook Strictly no elephants by Lisa Mantchev and Taeeun Yoo (Simon & Schuster Books, 2016) and is suitable for learners in upper primary (9-12 years old).

ICEKit#5 Here we are

This ICEKit was co-created by Isabel Karadag, Lucia Guino, Paul Baumann and Sofia Aragão. It has been developed around the picturebook Here we are by Oliver Jeffers (Harper Collins Children’s Books, 2017) and is suitable for learners in upper primary (9-12 years old).

This ICEKit was co-created by Desiree Halves, Michela Beoletto, Sagine Croes and Sandra Santos. It has been developed around the picturebook How to be a Lion by Ed Vere (Puffin Books, 2018) and is suitable for learners in upper primary (9-12 years old).

ICEKit#9 One  

This ICEKit was co-created by Naomi Johanson, Raffaella Mamino and Carla Rocha. It has been developed around the picturebook One by Kathryn Otoshi (Ko Kids Books, 2008) and suitable for learners in lower primary (5-8 years old).

This ICEKit was co-created by Monica Finotto, Sónia Silva, Alara Hoffmann and Nina van Vugt. It has been developed around the picturebook Clean Up! by Nathan Bryon & Dapo Adeola (Puffin, 2020) and suitable for learners in upper primary (9-12 years old).

This ICEKit was co-created by Beate Laugsand, Raffaella Mascagni, Mónica Santos, Sina Gebhard and Job Gerritsen. It has been developed around the picturebook Same, Same but Different by Jenny Sue Kostecki-Shaw (Christy Ottaviano Books, 2011) and suitable for learners in upper primary (9-12 years old).

This ICEKit was co-created by Carolin Nicolai, Cristina Denicola, Sandra Fontes and Iris Thyssen. It has been developed around the picturebook Unplugged by Steve Antony (Hodder Children’s Books, 2018) and suitable for learners in upper primary (9-12 years old).
